The name
Charis means grace.
We are a Pentecostal, charismatic ministry committed to the authority of Scripture and the message of the Cross and Him crucified. Charis has ministered to families, young people and the wider community through outreach programmes and ministries — imparting, empowering, impacting.
How the house was raised
Charis Worship Centre was established in January 2000 as a Pentecostal, charismatic ministry, with 22 members. Senior Pastor Reggie Hendricks and Pastor Densten Hendricks are founding members still very active in Charis. Although the beginnings were humble, God continued to bless the work and is still adding more people to the fellowship.
As the congregation grew, the church moved from Paarl to Wellington and expanded to two other branches in Paarl — including the Chicago expression. Over the years Charis has remained committed to the authority of Scripture and the message of the Cross.
As we look forward, we believe our greatest days of ministry are still ahead. We will remain committed to reaching people, restoring families, equipping and developing leaders, preaching sound doctrine and advancing the Kingdom of God.
