Our heart

Grace has a name. Charis.

Founded in January 2000 with twenty-two members, Charis began as a Pentecostal, charismatic ministry in Paarl. God has kept adding people to the fellowship. Today three campuses across the Boland carry the same charge: impart, empower, impact.

From Paarl to the Boland

Humble beginnings. A great cause.

Senior Pastor Reggie Hendricks and Pastor Densten Hendricks are founding members still active in Charis. As the congregation grew, the church moved from Paarl to Wellington and expanded to two further expressions in Paarl — including Chicago.

  • 2000Established in January with 22 members as a Pentecostal, charismatic ministry.
  • GrowthThe work moved to Wellington and planted further branches in Paarl.
  • 2025Twenty-five year celebration at Strauss Hall, Klein Drakenstein Road, Paarl.

Pastor Reggie is a founding member and oversees all Charis branches. Married, with Dylan and Lauren. Lizette carries a deep passion for God and a servant heart for the women and the congregation.

Densten & Lorraine Hendricks

A founding household still active in Charis. They oversee the Paarl branch, live locally with sons Tristan and Renier, and carry a passion for God’s people and the community.

Jacque & Fredeline Martin

Part of Charis since their youth, they shepherd the Chicago branch. A younger work, already marked by the Lord’s grace and favour.
